![]() ![]() It is inefficient, it will slow down your turn around time, and it will make the airlines mad if their flights get delayed. Whenever possible you want to avoid the second outcome. Other vehicles will fill themselves up, then go to their depot, unload, and return (notably fuel and cargo trucks). For some vehicles if they know they cannot fit all deliverables in one run they will bring along a second truck (for example passenger buses does this). Vehicle behavior: As you plan out your airport it is important to think about how your ground vehicles will act. Here you can purchase a number of vehicles up to the slots available in that service building (you can purchase additional slots for each building in the main Service Building Tab). Begin by selecting the Service building and select the "Vehicles" option on the right side. Buying Vehicles: After your ramps are linked, you will need to buy vehicles to get those services to the planes.Keep in mind that a ramp can only link to one facility of each kind. On the left hand side you will see some chain icons, you can either manually link a ramp to the building or automatically link all ramps to that one facility. Begin by selecting the first service building. You do this by linking your ramps to the service buildings you wish to provide. Linking: Your next job will be to get rid of all the ugly red markers floating above your facilities.Ramp diagram:Rd = Road RdTx = Taxi Way Tx Tx R Rd R R R Tx Tx Tx (To runway)TxTx RRRRR Tx TxRd TxTx RRRRR Tx TxRd TxTx RRRRR Tx TxTxTxTxTxTxTxTxT <- (From Runway)RdRd<- (to edge of map) Rd Rd Rd Rd RdS1 S2 Play the taxiway to the part of the ramp that is furthest away from the road T-Junction (see below for example) and connect the other part of the ramp to the exit on the left hand side of the runway. This means the planes will exit the runway at it's right-hand side. Let's say you set up your runway so that planes will fly in from the left side of the screen. Early on your airport will be a gigantic loop. Once you have placed the runway add an exit at both ends and connect the taxiway to the proper ramp spots. Figure out which direction you want the planes to arrive from and how they will fit into the flow of your airport. Since it is the most expensive item you will start with I saved it till last. ![]() Next connect the ramps to each other using a taxiway and start thinking about placing your runway.Keep in mind that early on aircraft will pull through the ramp like a drive through so you will need to plan for taxiway on both sides of the ramp. Begin by connecting your ramps to the road you created. ![]() This will make turn-around more efficient which is important later. To begin with I would recommend placing your ramps close to the service buildings you have.
